The article that Eurogamer - Digital Foundry wrote highlights the issues associated with GOW3's MLAA solution. Those issues are a primary reason why MLAA isn't implemented/implementable in many of the games out there. Hence, developers still use MSAA or other custom methods to overcome those issues. This is also the reason why game programmers/engineers are looking to create a more flexible solution that can be applied across all mediums - PS3, 360, and PC.
The writer is discussing the argument that games are not equal representation in the art/entertainment realm. In theory he disagrees with the notion that games are not art because they are the pinnacle of interactive cinema.
However, he uses Civ 5 as a counterpoint because the game lacks emotional ties and/or empathy for anything that is going on in the game. For instance, he discusses how Civ 5 lacks the personality aspect because there really isn't a power struggle or s...
Like I said, it is "possible". I have seen people play like that and win on Hard difficulty. The game has not been able to get past that issue since all the previous iterations. Additionally, the continuously flowing attack of DW6 basically encourages you to mash square all the time. I also find that the heavy attack was not as effective as it used to be in earlier iterations like DW4. Also, fyi, I always play on Hard mode.
Wrong place...
Well, your description pretty much indicated that you read the review. I don't attack people that explain details like yourself :P.
Regarding your viewpoint of reviews, I will cite an example.
A portion of the game that involves stealth requires certain movements by the player.
1 reviewer believes the section is clumsy and the controls are too loose.
1 reviewer believes the section adds suspense and the controls imitate 'real-...
You know, maybe if you actually read the review then you will understand why this game is mediocre rather than ramble and make a bunch of baseless assumptions?
@Stealth20k
I do agree that they scored Atelier Rorona incredibly low compared to everyone else. But, I do believe that people need to "read" reviews before randomly attacking a website. Again, it's only one person's opinion. In this case, they thought the design was bad. Other may t...
Apparently Eurogamer's face-off gallery shows the same minimal AA. It could be possible that the developers did not enable AA in the PC version, but I am not quite sure. Here is a link to the Eurogamer face-off if you are curious:

MLAA still wasn't available until a few months ago, most likely a few months after GOW3 came out. LOS, on the other hand, was already in development for quite a while (2 years from what I recall). As a result, going back and adding the MLAA would have required much more time and polish, which would potentially delay the game.
If you actually followed when MLAA was implemented you would actually get a clue. MLAA was only added to the PS3 SDKs recently, I suspect about 2-3 months after GOW3 came out. By that time, LOS was already in development for 2 years. As a result, the SDK's that are currently in MercurySteam's hands did not possess MLAA until very recently. AND, by that time, they are already in the polishing stages for the game. Thus, going back and adding MLAA would have delayed the game for another ...
Err...incorrect. The ex-CEO of Yahoo rejected the initial offers put forth by Microsoft. The furthest that the two companies have gone is just a partnership for using each other's services.
Actually, it starts with a Y. And that stands for Yahoo. Try and check up on your facts before stating stuff.
You do know that Castlevania was a HacknSlash on the PS2 via Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness?
AND considering that Lament of Innocence preceded GoW 1, I'd say it is NOT a rip-off, but rather an evolution of the initial 3D Castlevania games.
Is that good enough?
It's pretty clear that the device works. There have been numerous reviews of the device already and youtube is filled with them. As a result, we can assume that the store is already selling them and is sold out. There was a video posting on this site a day or so ago that clearly showed the device work. He inserted the usb, backed up FIFA '08, took out the blu-ray, inserted PES, and played FIFA w/o it being in the system.
So...you're saying that your screen doesn't go black before starting a game? (in other words, it is supposed to go black before the game starts, otherwise something is wrong).
Additionally, I watched Part 2 of the video, which clearly showed what I mentioned.
He put the PES Blu-Ray into the Blu-Ray drive to prove that he backed up FIFA 08 to his harddrive and doesn't need that particular bluray to run the game.
People don't need to download 20GB+ files for this to work. It simply rips the game from the Blu-ray when you insert it into the PS3. So people really only need to borrow or rent games to use the USB properly.
Actually, it already exists (to some extent) as "Mugen." It's pretty much an open-source game that agglomerates all and any character imaginable. I've seen Homer Simpson vs. Peter Griffin in Youtube videos via this game. You can also pretty much add any character you can imagine (given you know how to program/digitally draw).
You'd be surprised how different it is now. It is very westernized especially along the coastline cities like Shanghai. Of course, this law prohibits online gaming needs, but in terms of actually 'living a life' there, it is actually quite good.
Actually, contrary to what is being portrayed in the media, China is not purely communist. They have embraced a lot of capitalist ideas and semi-free market trading, which goes against all ideas of communism. They are, in a way, a hybrid of capitalism and communism.
In regards to the laws that you mentioned, the 2 kids per family thing is slowly disappearing. From what I recall, they've made it so the children of families who abide by the "2 kids per household" ...
There really is no other choice than assumptions. It's how forecasting works for sales of products. In finance we use basic assumptions based on market values as well as historical numbers to project future sales (or for new products, we use a "similar to this product" approach and use that product's history to project the sales).
I really DO NOT understand how people can hate this website. They are doing what every single other data analysis company does t...
